December is here and gone

Well Decemeber is here and almost gone already! Crazy how time flies when you are having fun.

2010 Has been a wonderful year for our family with our little addition Haigen. Me and Trav talk all the time about how we don't remember what our life was like without Haigen. We love him so much and he has brought us so much happiness and joy in the past 8 months and are so excited to see what 2011 brings for our family.

This is the newest picture of Haigen. He now has 7 teeth and they just keep popping out. He will be ready for steak by the time he is one :) This picture was taken Dec. 23rd. These are his new PJ's. We started our own family tradition this year that we would open PJ 's and a movie and sleep by the Christmas tree as a family. Daddy and Mommy were stiff for a couple days but Haigen thought it was pretty cool to crawl around all night and to snuggle with us.

Travis still continues to work on his legs and we are looking into a new device to use for his nerve pain instead of medication. It is called a Neuromodulation Spinal Cord Stimulator System. It is basically supposed to keep a busy signal going to the brain to make him not feel the pain. We are going to do a 5 day trial as soon as we can get an appointment and if it does work he will have a simple same day surgery to implant the battery pack on his hip. We are crossing our fingers that it will work for his pain and eliminate the 12 pills a day he has to take to control his pain. He continues to watch Will and Wyatt 5 days a week. Haigen loves his cousins and they are so good to him and help out "Uncle Max" a ton.

As for me I am just working and enjoying my life as Haigens mommy and Trav's wife. I have been working hard on losing the rest of this baby weight and get ready for my 1/2 Marathon in April when we go to Washington for Spring Break. I am training to beat my time by at least a half hour so will see where I get.

Well until next year....

This is just a favorite photo of Haigen this year! :)

Is November really almost over?

Well November is here and almost gone! Crazy how this year has flown by. This month has gone by so fast so I guess we have been busy right? Travis has started his horseriding at the National Ability Center and really seems to be enjoying it. We have four weeks left and then will be signing up for Hippotherapy which is a riding the horse but backwards and on your side, etc. to target specific muscles so that will be exciting to start.
Haigen continues to grow like a weed! He is still working on the crawling thing but so close, Travis is hoping by his birthday but will have to see. Haigen really enjoys eating his baby food now as you can see from the picture, carrots are his favorite :)
I am still continuing to stay busy at school with my kiddos and was offered a job opportunity last week to teach the Exceptional Students class at the college one day a week so I put my resumee in and had a phone interview, just waiting to hear back now. It would be a fun and exciting new adventure so we will have to wait and see what happens.
I saw this on a friends blog and since Thanksgiving is a couple days a way I would copy her idea :)
T- I am thankful for Travis! He is such an amazing father and husband, I don't know how I got so lucky!
H- I am thankful for Haigen and all the blessings and joy he has brought our family.
A- I am thankful for Angela and Chuck my amazing mother and father in law who do so much for our family.
N-I am thankful for the Naylors, they are such a great family and are so good to us.
K- I am thankful for my kiddos at school. I learn so much from them everyday and they always keep me on my toes.
F- I am thankful for all of my family! We are so lucky to be related to such amazing people.
U- I am thankful for U!
L- Lastly I am thankful for the Love of God and all the blessings he has brought to our family the last two years!

October

Well October is already here and gone! Where does the time fly? Haigen will be 6 months old on Wednesday and is growing up way to fast for mommy and daddy!

He has two teeth now and is so ready to crawl but can't quite figure it out, he just rocks back and forth waiting for his toys to come to him :)

Last weekend we went to Bulloween where the bull riders dress up and ride bulls and kids dressed up. Haigen is going to be a cow for Halloween and he took 2nd place! YAY! We were very excited about that.

Travis is still watching Will , Wyatt and Haigen during the days and they are always playing the Wii hunting game, bucking bulls or helping Trav with Haigen. They are great little cousins to him and are always wanting him to do things with them. Travis is still doing therapy one day a week and then goes to the gym everyday to work on what the therapist has shown him and is continually making progress on his legs.

As for me I am just busy being a mommy and trying to make it through this crazy school year. As some of you know I will be looking for other options next year though , maybe in another school or maybe different all together, who knows I am just looking for a little bit of a change and maybe something that I can be home more with Haig.

We are looking forward to taking Haigen trick or treating for the first time and showing off how cute he is in his cow costume.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

September

Well September is almost over already so I figured I would do our September post as well. This month we enjoyed camping with family and with friends. Haigen loves the fourwheeler and enjoyed going on rides with us, Daddy even took us up to the peaks where dad proposed to mom!
Travis has been going to Physical Therapy once a week on his legs and will increase that when he is done working at the end of the month. He is also off two of his medications and has been using supplements called Isotonix for his Khrons Disease and so far so good,no flair ups and it is a lot cheaper and healthier for him so will cross our fingers and hope it stays working for him. He will also be starting horse back riding at the National Ability Center in Park City in the winter to continue working on his legs. We are excited to see how this helps him.
I am still just loving being a mommy and spending every free minute I can with Trav and Haig. My job is starting to balance out a little more now that I am back in the grove of things and my students are also getting back in the groove of being back at school again. I have started to train again for running a race at the beginning of the year again but am taking things alot slower this time due to my c-section and it still continuing to heal, but enjoying getting back to it and excited to run a race again soon!
Haigen is getting himself ready to crawl, he will sit up on his knees and rock back and forth while getting frustrated he can not go anywhere. He giggles all the time now and we all enjoy getting a good laugh from him! I can't believe he will be 5 months old on the 27th! Time is flying by!

August

August was a fun month for us. We tried to enjoy the remainder of our summer before mom had to go back to work. We took a trip to Fish Lake with Grandma and Grandpa for a wedding and had a great time. We got a great family photo outside the lodge where the wedding took place.

Haigen continues to grow like a weed and change everyday. He is rolling over and laughing all the time. We are told daily what a good baby he is and he is a very good baby. We could not be more blessed with him.
Travis is finishing up the season mowing lawns until October when he will be staying at home with Haigen and watching Will & Wyatt. There will be many adventures for all of them and I can't wait to come home and hear there stories everyday!
I am now back to school and it has already been a challenging, yet rewarding year. Every year I get new students that bring a whole new dynamic to my job but I am truly grateful to be able to work with these little special beings and be able to help them learn and grow everyday despite their disabilities.

July 2010

Haigen has been talking and laughing so much this month and just getting bigger and bigger everyday. Travis knee is healing very well from his knee surgery earlier in the month and he continues to do PT three times a week which is helping him alot. We are now working on his medications and trying to find something cheaper and better for his body to help with his Krohns Disease so we will see what this month brings. As for me I am just enjoying the time I have left before school starts hanging out with Haigen. We enjoyed spending time with the family this month with BBQ and celebrating the 4th and 24th together and also welcoming a new little cousin Dawson to our family. He is a cute little bugger and has tons of hair!

June 2010

Wow June has flown by for our family! Haigen will be 2 months old on Sunday and is growing like a weed. At his last doctors appointment he gained 15 oz. in 2 weeks so he is getting chunky and we are loving it. He loves to talk to you and tell you stories and the cutest thing is he loves to smile. He wakes up in the middle of the night just grinning from ear to ear, he loves waking up in the morning and hanging out with his daddy before he goes to work and giving him lots of smiles. Trav is busy mowing lawns and tinkering with making his elk and deer horn lamps when he has time (and putting horns on anything he can find lol) :) His knee is still giving him problems and we are sick of dealing with the Heber doctors after we went there on Tuesday and they pulled out 8 ounces of blood and puss which was causing the swelling and we had been to the doctor two weeks previous and they didn't do anything so we have an appointment on Monday with an Orthopedic Surgeon in Park City to see what we can do to get his knee better. As for me I am just enjoying being a mommy and not having homework or school stuff to deal with.

May - June 2010

So Haigen is 6 weeks old today already! It is crazy how fast time has flown by since he has arrived. We are loving being parents and have so much fun with him. He is already trying to sit up and holds his head up pretty well. He even has started to roll over and I had a video but cannot find it.His daddy was so excited about witnessing it for the first time.)
We also had his baby blessing on June 6th at the Wallsburg Town Hall. It turned out really nice.
As for mommy and daddy, I am enjoying having the summer off and having nothing but being a mommy to do everyday. Daddy is back to mowing lawns when the lawn mower is working.
Well thats all for May well update you at the end of the month!

The count down in on.... 8 weeks to go!

Well life as Trav and I are used to is about to change in the next 8 weeks. Baby Haigen is growing tons it seems. Thus the basketball I have swallowed :) I have been truly blessed though throughout my pregnancy. I have not ever experienced morning sickness or had any real problems and Haigen is growing and developing just like he is supposed to. What more could I ask for?

Along with Haigen on his way into our lives some other things are changing. I have 7 weeks left of my masters program and on May 10th I will graduate with my masters in Special Education/ Early Childhood Psychology YAY! I can not even describe what an accomplishment this will be for me being the high school drop out and all. It will be such a relief yet I still am nervous of what I am going to do with all my time but plan on putting it all into being the best mommy I can for my son.

Travis is still making wonderful progress everyday with his recovery and a wife could not be more proud than I am of him and his amazing personality and drive through all of this. He is still enjoying watching the twins 3 days a week playing the hunting game religiously and making weekly trips to the library if not daily to ride the elevator :) Wyatt was so excited the other day when I got home because he had found a book called, "My first BB Gun." Perfect right!

Trav has also been enjoying plowing snow a couple times this month due to the snow we have been getting. I am happy for him but ready for Spring to get here

Here are some pictures of Baby Haigens room. We are still waiting to get the curtains up and a few other things but it is coming along.

Baby Haigen

Life in 2010...

Well it has been forever I am not so good at this blog thing but I figured when the baby comes it will make it easier for everyone to keep up with us. Oh yes if you didn't know I am about six months pregnant with a little boy. Me and Travis are so excited and can not wait to have a new little member of our family.
I am still plugging away at school and will graduate with my Master's in May just in time for the baby to come YAY!
Travis continues to work on his legs and is now working with a personal trainer to try to get himself farther along with his progress. Exciting news though! He will no longer have to wear full leg braces his doctor thinks he is ready to be fitted for KFO which are braces up to the knee we are justing waiting for insurance and paperwork to go through before he can be fitted.
We had a wonderful Christmas and are excited to see what 2010 brings.
